Ramlila in Suriname
Dear All: I am an independent researcher from the University of Trinidad and Tobago. I am conducting research on Ramlila. This is open air theatre that eneact the life and times of Sri Ram. This is part of the Hindu culture that came to the Caribbean with indentured Indians during colonial times.
I would like to visit Suriname sometime between September 19th and September 30 to meet the people who organize and perform this open air theatre.
I would appreciate it if you all can direct me to the relevant authorities.
Much Thanks
Sincerely

Thanks very much for sharing this video on Ramlila in Suriname. I can see some similarities with Trinidad.
In how many places would you find Ramlila in Suriname?

Hello n Namaste Indrani
I am Veenaud Boodhun, aged 57, from Mauritius. I work as Principal Cooperative Officer.Yes, Ram Katha, Ramayan, Ram Nawmi are very popular here and they are celebrated with great pomp.
An international conference on the Indian diaspora is scheduled in late August at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka, Mauritius. Why not come over here n meet Hindus from round the world where they are settled ? This might help in your research work.
I volunteer to offer you free board n lodging and the love of my family.
Please keep in touch and upload pictures of youself, the University and various facets of life over there.
Thanks
Veenaud
