Hi from Canada,

I was just wondering if someone could give me the Surinamese view of the border issue with Guyana - specifically with respect to the oil exploration in the offshore disputed areas. Do you think this issue can be settled so that offshore drilling can be started soon? What do you think potential ruling from the Law of the Sea convention will be and will Suriname comply if it does not agree with your stated claim to the area?

I am interested in your opinion on this topic.
Thanks,
Nadr

Thanks for the link to the newpaper report. I have gathered some information from reading a Guyanese paper.

But I am interested in what the man on the street in Suriname thinks about the whole dispute and whether an agreement between the two countries is even possible.

I look forward to your reply.
