Residency, Obtaining it in Suriname
Yes, I know. I can call the Surinamese Embassy, but have you ever tried to pry information out of an embassy employee! They are definitely not the friendliest kind of people either.
I have read in the forum that there are persons living there that refer to themselves as "repats." I understand that to mean that they are residents of Suriname, i.e., they live, more or less, permanently there. I thought it very likely that one of them could tell me what they did to live in Suriname legally on a permanent basis.
I would estimate that having a sufficient income with which to live there independently would be required. I have that. So, does anyone have any familiarity with what the government of Suriname would or does require to establish residency?
Thanks, in advance, if any reader knows anything on this subject and could also email me at: jger1935@yahoo.com
